Together with the Center for Biomedical Research and Translational Surgery, laboratory animal science courses are offered at regular intervals for PhD students of the Medical University of Vienna. These courses teach the professional handling of laboratory animals in the context of animal experiments and housing, as well as basic knowledge about anatomy and physiology of commonly used laboratory animal species.
